Clifton Hunter Cadets build life skills

Young people participating in the cadet program at Clifton Hunter High School in North Side are impressing teachers with their personal development this school year.

“Since the start of the school year, teachers have noticed a huge difference in the kids who became involved in the cadet program this year,??? said Clifton Hunter High School English and literacy teacher and the school detachment Second in Command, Second Lt. Dean Brown-Richmond. The Detachment Commander is Lt. Wilston Bennett.

Cayman Island Cadet Corps seeks Recruits

Since the corps was established in March 2002, more than 450 high school students have taken part in the youth-development organization, whose focus is to teach the value of citizenship, leadership, community service and personal responsibility and instil a sense of accomplishment, self-esteem, teamwork and self-discipline.

Cadet Corps honoured facilitated by the Governor

On 30 October 2012 His Excellency the Governor Mr. Duncan Taylor and Mrs. Taylor welcomed personnel from the Cayman Islands Cadet Corps to Government House to receive The Caribbean Cadet medal, the Cadet Corps Long Service Medal, the Distinguished & Meritorious Service Medal and the Commandants' Commendation and BTEC awards.

The Cayman Islands Cadet Corps 10K and 5K is approaching.

Sponsored by BDO, the event is set for Sunday, 7 April at 4pm.

The races are organised by Race Caribbean and all proceeds will benefit the Cayman Islands Cadet Corps.
